Privacy Policy

Shave Carousel Effective date: July 15, 2026

Shave Carousel ("the app") is developed and published by Igor Dubosarskiy ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles and where it goes. The short version: your data lives on your device, and we run no servers and collect nothing about you.

What the app stores, and where

Everything you enter in Shave Carousel - your gear ("den"), shave log, photos, ratings, notes, tags, and settings - is stored locally on your device in the app's private database. We do not operate any server, and none of this data is transmitted to us.

• No account. The app has no sign-up, login, or user profile.
• No analytics or tracking. The app contains no analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, crash reporters, or tracking identifiers of any kind.
• No sale or sharing of personal data. We have nothing to sell or share - your data never reaches us.

Camera and photo library

If you choose to attach photos to your gear or shave entries, the app asks for camera and/or photo library permission. Photos you attach are stored locally on your device alongside your other data. The app never accesses your camera or photo library except when you explicitly take or pick a photo.

Optional photo upload when sharing (ImgBB)

The app has an optional, off-by-default feature: "Upload SOTD photo when sharing." When you enable it and share a shave, the shave's key photo (or a generated collage card) is uploaded to the image-hosting service ImgBB (imgbb.com) so your shared post can include a working image link.

You should know:

• Uploads happen only when the feature is enabled and you actively share a shave. Nothing is uploaded in the background.
• Uploaded images are hosted in an ImgBB library managed by the developer and receive a public direct link - anyone with the link can view the image. Do not upload photos you would not want public.
• Uploads are limited to the image itself. No name, location, device identifier, or other personal information is attached.
• You can delete an uploaded image at any time from the shave's detail screen in the app, which removes it from ImgBB. You can also email us (address below) to request deletion of any uploaded image.
• ImgBB is an independent service with its own privacy policy: https://imgbb.com/privacy

Backups

• iOS app: an automatic backup file is written to the app's Documents folder on your device (visible in the Files app). It stays on your device and in your own iCloud/device backups as governed by your iOS settings.
• Web builds (used for development/testing) optionally support backups to your own Google Drive or Dropbox account. If you connect one, backup files are written to an app-specific folder in your account under your credentials; we never see the data or your credentials. Google and Dropbox have their own privacy policies.

Built-in product catalog

The app ships with a built-in, read-only catalog of razors and blades (names, specifications, and product photos) to make adding gear faster. This catalog is bundled inside the app; browsing it involves no network requests and no data collection.

Children

Shave Carousel is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since the app collects no personal data, there is nothing for us to have collected; if you nonetheless believe a child has transmitted personal information to us (for example, via an image upload), contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Because your data is stored only on your device, you are always in full control of it:

• Access / export: Settings → Data & backup lets you export everything (full backup or CSV).
• Deletion: Settings → "Wipe all data" permanently deletes everything on the device; deleting the app does the same. For uploaded share images, use the in-app delete or email us.

If you are in a jurisdiction with statutory privacy rights (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), those rights are effectively always satisfied: we hold no personal data about you. For anything relating to uploaded share images, contact us below.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices ever change (for example, a new optional integration), this policy will be updated and the effective date revised. Material changes will be called out in the app's release notes.
